Sharing food is a powerful act of community.  Thanks for stepping up - and into community.  Giving is good for everyone involved!

Human Solutions operates three emergency shelters for people experiencing homelessness, one for families with children and two for adults who identify as women, non-binary or gender queer. All three shelters depend on volunteers to donate, prepare and (pre COVID, serve) meals. Our shelters have different numbers of residents: 40, 60 and 130, so you can decide how many meals is right for you.

There are several ways to help with food:

  • Make and deliver sack lunches. Here's how.
  • Cook and deliver a hot dinner. Here are some recipe ideas to get you started!
  • Purchase meals for delivery - it's a great way to support your  favorite local restaurant 🙂

To learn more and sign up, contact Shawna, our awesome volunteer and donations coordinator: volunteer@humansolutions.org or 503.278.1637. Thank you in advance!

These folks cooked and delivered a hot dinner for the residents of our Gresham Shelter. Delicious!
