Sharing food is a powerful act of community. Thanks for stepping up – and into community. Giving is good for everyone involved!

Human Solutions operates three emergency shelters for people experiencing homelessness, one for families with children and two for adults who identify as women, non-binary or gender queer. All three shelters depend on volunteers to donate, prepare and (pre COVID, serve) meals. Our shelters have different numbers of residents: 40, 60 and 130, so you can decide how many meals is right for you.

There are several ways to help with food:

  • Make and deliver sack lunches –  here’s how. This makes a great service project for students!
  • Cook and deliver a hot dinner for 40, 60 or 120 people. Here are some recipe ideas to get you started!
  • Purchase meals for delivery – it’s a great way to support your favorite local restaurant (especially during COVID)! We can help with amounts and popular foods.
  • Cook a dish for one of our popular drop-off potlucks, where the community comes together with an array of options. You’ll find sign-ups on our potluck calendar right here.
